Nothing says "Party at Paradise Beach" like having your entire body encased in burlap clothing while you sit around a table looking at fruit and talking to the same people that you were previously in a bunker with for days/weeks/years!

Scary Dream
by freemamaof3 ina little background- i faded in august 2015. ive got to small kids and one on the way.
i dont believe the jw cult nonsense anymore.. .
ok so last night i had the scariest dream.

Like Sparky, I've had a lot of bethel-based dreams/nightmares. For me, it was always such a relief to wake up to my "present truth".
After a long weekend working overtime, I'm due for such a dream that will make me happy to get up early for work tomorrow. Otherwise, I have to wait until payday on Thursday when money is magically deposited in my bank account. Money is more happifying that waking from a bad dream.
When I was still "in", I had some terrific armageddon and demon attack nightmares. Those have all gone away.
Perhaps my worst nightmare was when I was in university and dreamed that I'd done a whole bunch of homework... but then woke up to realize that all that work was just a dream.
There was also that time that I dreamed I was a car muffler... I woke up exhausted.
And there was the time that I dreamed I ate a giant marshmallow. I woke up and couldn't find my pillow anywhere.

The Greatest Intellectual Scam of All-Time: French Postmodernism
by cofty insbf you annoyed me enough to deserve this.. gad saad's comments on the nonsensical gibberish of jacques derrida, michel foucault, and jacques lacan.
charlatanism of the highest order.
.... the first quote from derrida starts as 2:50.

That was 7:49 that I'll never get back. But it reminds me why my life is better as an engineer than as a French postmodern philosopher.

JM, I'm glad to hear that things went well.
One more thing, my daughter husband is not a elder or MS... Her last husband was a Beth elite
Your daughter has chosen more wisely the second time around. I wasn't too much of an a$*hole while I was bethelite/elder, but I'm much better with this ex-bethelite, ex-elder, ex-JW thing!

“Worldwide Epidemic”
by berrygerry inwatching the world - awake june 22, 1977. during the first interhemispheric conference on adolescent fertility, held recently at arlington, virginia, the delegates representing thirty-nine nations concluded that childbearing among teen-agers has reached the proportions of a “worldwide epidemic.” as quoted in medical tribune, iranian journalist nalia kazemian said in the keynote speech: “[we must] face the fact that the world-wide trend towards pregnancy and childbearing [at an early age] is a physical, social, and demographic crisis.
damaging the whole fabric of society.”.
daily mail - june 2, 2016. us teen pregnancy rate falls to an historic low.

Come now, berrygerry, you know how this plays out in JWland:
- 1977: Increasing teen pregnancy proves that armageddon is near!
- 2016: Low teen pregnancy proves that armageddon is near... you know, because everyone has turned gay now and/or have become infertile because of tight pants!

RC Was Worse Than I thought...
by JW_Rogue ini was visiting with my family and it seems the rc was worse than i thought.
now they all seem to think that "we are so close to the end" and that the "brothers are really preparing us for the gt".
some even saying that soon our message will change to a judgement message for mankind and talking about how we need to improve "everything we do".

Prologos: remember too, that according to their predictions, the anointed GB will disappear at the beginning of the Great Tribulation, poof, and the R&F will be left holding the empty bag, and deal with the real trouble and aftermath
I can't decide between two responses to this:
- The anointed GB will probably disappear, poof, after the last of the Brooklyn real estate is sold and the money siphoned off to some secret bank accounts.
- Originally, the GB was supposed to float off into heaven, but have you seen how heavy these guys are getting? All the force of the holy spirit could barely lift them a flight of stairs. So the nulite is that they'll use a divine transporter so they can get beamed up in little pieces.

The last video in the 2016 convention...
by problemaddict 2 in...is an epic triumph is emotional manipulation.
bringing together all of the stories they told thus far and placing them int he "new world" complete with the little boy who was killed in a car accident coming back from the dead.. i have a good friend who is stuck in with family and plays the role.
he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

Ah the magic of movies! You have complete control over the eyes and thoughts of your audience. Even complete as$hole actors can pretend to be loving and caring friends of the viewer. History can be rewritten with glamorous story-lines, the future can be predicted as a utopia or distopia.
He said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes. "That last one was a 5 tissue!", his neighbor stated.
Titanic, Brokeback Mountain, Old Yeller, and thousands of other movies have caused billions of people to shed an ocean of tears. Watchtower does not have a monopoly of tugging at heartstrings.

The battle lines are being drawn
by hillfy333 inwith the new rc conventions making their rounds, much has been leaked in regards to their loyalty videos.
disturbing is the ramping up of hatred and shunning towards those who have faded, especially if such ones according to the watchtower are living in sin, but have not been found guilty as yet by the judicial process.
certainly of the criteria of guilt, is talking against the gb, which i personally come under.

If my parents are any gauge, most of us exJWs pay closer attention to what's in the magazines, broadcasts, and assemblies than they do. How many dubs read, pay attention, or even stay awake for these things? For the crapvention they'll hear the talks once, watch the videos once, might even take notes. A dose of the fear, obligation, and guilt may stick, but much of what was presented is completely forgotten by the time they get the breadsticks at Olive Garden on the way home afterward.
If they want to review the highlights of the program and watch the crapvention videos again and again, they'll have to get on "apostate" websites until/if it get posted on JW.borg.

Remember the old warnings from WT about how "brothers" could be innocently browsing the internet or reading email and a popup window for a porn website would just mysteriously appear and "brothers" would instantly close down their computers (about 15 minutes later). It never happened to me, well, not until I actually went looking for porn.
Maybe this has happened to her. She was searching for muffin or sausage recipes and these porn websites just mysteriously appeared.
